 Books are man's best friend and a vast ocean of knowledge.📚 In the past, people recorded information on clay tablets, animal skins and palm leaves. With the advent of printing, books spread rapidly around the world. The earliest book in Sri Lanka were associated with. Buddhism and works like the Mahavanshaya and the Jathakakatha Potha helped preserve our history and morality. Books are mainly divided into two categories, fiction and nonfiction. Novels, Short story and Poem written from the author's imagination are fiction, while nonfiction books biographies and history books based on factual information are nonfiction. Through reading books we can I learn new information and ideas about the world. Reading a good book can reduce stress. Reading a story creates images in out minds which increases creativity.  As the saying goes "Reading makes a man complete" . Reading books is essential for the development of personality.

  My motherland is Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is a very beautiful country. I think I am very lucky to have been born in such a country. Because my motherland is a country full of natural beauty, culture and people with beautiful hearts. My motherland is very small. In this small country, there are beautiful places like waterfalls, mountain range, rivers, forests and beaches. My motherland also has a very good culture. There are people with beautiful hears who do not give up on the happiness and stay together. Different ethnic groups live in my motherland. They work very unitedly, cooperatively and friendly. My motherland has a proud history. Places like Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya showcase that heritage to the world. My motherland also ranks highly in various field such as education, sports and art. So I am very proud of my motherland Sri Lanka.💗  

The sinhala and Tamil New Year is the most beautiful festival that showcases our Sri Lanka cultural identity. This is a wonderful festival that is connected to nature. The New Year is not just a change in the calendar. It is a time of renewal of nature, customs and human relationships. During this time of year which falls in April the trees and vines are in full bloom and the sound of the Keol adds a strange life to the environment. The astrological basis of this is the transit of the sun from Pisces to Aries. The entire country aligns to one rhythm as Sinhalees and Tamils light fires, eat food and work at the same time. This is a unique phenomenon that is not seen in any other country in the world. Whishing prosperity for the home and the country milk left in a new pot is a symbol of prosperity.  My school is my turning point. I am very proud of my school which is a great institution that is advancing the field of education in the Northwestern province. It is an unforgettable place that taught me skills and discipline. Isipathana National School Bamunakotuwa is my school. I studied at my school from the time I entered grade1 until I left grade13. School is a lamppost that helped illuminate my life. So wen I hear the name Isipathana I feel grade respect.      I have a pet dog. His name is Tommy. He is small. His color is Black and White. He has bright eyes. Tommy is very friendly and playful.      Every morning, I give him food and water. He likes to eat rice, meat and biscuits. I play with him in the garden. He runs fast and loves to chase a ball. Tommy is very clever. He understands simple words and follows me every where. He also guards our house at night.      I love my pet very much because he is my best friend. He makes me happy every day.  

I am a person who loves to travel. I really like to relax, be happy, have fun and learn new things. Our country is a very beautiful small country. Our country is a country full of natural beauty including rivers, streams, forests and waterfalls. It is also a country with a large number of ancient sites and historical and sacred places.    I want to travel all around Sri Lanka. I have been to many places in Sri Lanka by now. But I have many more places to go. I like to travel with my family and my friends. I also like to travel alone. I often try to go places I haven't been before. There I have the opportunity to learn about new places, new people and diverse cultural experiences. I specially love going to places with natural beauty like mountains, waterfalls, rivers and beaches. I also like to visit historical sites and again knowledge about our country's past. I have another special dream. That is to, travel around the world someday. I am trying to fulfill that dream somehow....

  An evening at the beach is an experience that brings happy and peace to all of us. The most beautiful sight to see on a beach in the evening is the sunset. The sun, which has been shining brightly all day, sets in the evening, turning the sky golden. It appears to us as if the sun is hidden by the sea. This spectacle is a sight that captivates the eyes of everyone, young and old. The cool breeze blowing from the seashore in the evening is a medicine that brings healing to both our bodies and minds. The music of the waves crashing onto the shore, one after another, delights our ears. Also, birds flying in the distant sky, children playing happily with their friends, and the laughter of people on the beach, all of these things add a special charm to the beach. Some people who come to the beach spend time happily chatting with their families. Children are happy building with sandcastles and flying kites. Some walk along the shore, leaving footprints.   My favorite place to visit in Sri Lanka, the place that soothes my mind, is the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy. The Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, where the left tooth of the Buddha is enshrined, is a very sacred place. This sacred place is a place of honor for both local and foreign tourists. Since my Loku Amma lives in Kandy, the Temple of the sacred Tooth Relic is a place I visit often. I love hearing the sound of the Hevisi at the Temple of the Tooth Relic. I could listen to that sound all day long. When I hits the Tooth Relic, I feel great joy and peace in my heart. I love to offer Burnt flowers to the Tooth Relic, light lamps and gaze at it for a while. All of these things bring me great joy. Every time I visit the Temple of the Tooth, one thing I never forget is going to the Kandy Lake. I also don't forget to feed the fish in the Kandy Lake. That is also a very beautiful sight.
